Faculty SPH Assistant Professor
The University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston (UTSPH) invites applications to fill tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level on the UTSPH LOCATION Campus located in the LOCATIONS. Three positions are available and affiliated with the RESEARCH CENTER NAME, a large and well established research center within the Division of DIVISION NAME, DEPARTMENT NAME at UTSPH.
Responsibilities will include developing a balanced portfolio of research, teaching and service. It is expected that the faculty’s research program will focus on human genetics and will take advantage of the accessibility of the human genome. The selected candidates will be expected to serve as principal investigator on externally funded projects and as co-investigator with multidisciplinary research teams. Teaching requirements include course leadership and advising of master’s and doctoral level graduate students. Professional service encompasses activities at the local, national and international levels.
Qualifications include:
(1) an earned doctoral degree in human genetics, molecular genetics, genetic epidemiology, biological sciences, biostatistics, bioinformatics or related fields; (2) a track record and/or strong promise of obtaining peer‐reviewed external funding and publications in the above areas; (3) commitment to excellence in teaching and advising graduate students; (4) excellent written and oral communication skills; and (5) a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for
collaborative science.
