The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center-McGovern Medical School invites applications for a full-time non-tenure Assistant Professor faculty position in the Department of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation (ACTAT)- EP Heart Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Program.
Position Key Accountabilities:
-Examines and treats disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular conduction
system. These include but are not limited to conditions such as atrial and
ventricular arrhythmias as well as heart blocks.
-Diagnoses and manages patients both in outpatient and inpatient settings.
-Performs various advanced and complex cardiac procedures to normalize
abnormal heart rhythms as well as procedures such as placement of
permanent pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators and devices for cardiac
resynchronization therapy.
-Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
-Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose
condition.
-Must be willing to travel to other clinical locations in and around Houston as well as outreach clinics in Texas.
Qualifications
-MD
-Texas medical license or be eligible to be licensed
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (CCEP).
