Position Summary:

Performs or coordinates the various specialized recruiting/employment services required to address the university’s current and emerging workforce needs.  Responsibilities may include staff level as well as executive level recruiting.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Maintains broad knowledge of customer base including general business awareness, key objectives, and current and emerging workforce needs.
  2. Maintains close working relationships with customer base to understand their specific employment needs and works collaboratively with them to develop and implement appropriate recruiting strategies. 
  3. Facilitates the recruiting process by implementing appropriate recruiting strategies, evaluating applicants, referring the best qualified candidates, preparing salary recommendations, and coordinating pre-employment.
  4. Provides guidance to hiring managers on how to maintain an effective, fair, consistent hiring process.
  5. Evaluates workforce trends and provides education and coaching to hiring managers.  Looks for opportunities to provide consultative services to hiring managers related to the retention of their existing workforce, and applies knowledge of their existing workforce to profile future employment needs.   
  6. Continually looks for opportunities to improve work processes and the value of delivered services.  Uses key performance measures to optimize the business.
  7. Works collaboratively with hiring managers, Human Resources staff, and others to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and UTHSCH policies.
  8. Assists HR leadership with the development and implementation of strategies, goals and action plans needed to meet departmental and university objectives.
  9. Participates in marketing, branding, name recognition initiatives such as job/career fairs.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Preferred: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Minimum Education:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience.

Minimum Experience:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Five years of responsible professional experience within an area of human resources.
