Position Summary:
Provides general human resources support to the hospital including recruiting, metrics, and employee relations counseling.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Works with hiring departments to assess recruiting needs, develop candidate profiles, develop recruiting strategies, and initiate recruiting efforts. Coordinates employment advertising and job postings.
2. Screens candidates and refers them to appropriate hiring authorities. Works with hiring managers to review candidate qualifications and determine appropriate offer amounts. Extends job offers and coordinates processing of selected candidates.
3. Compiles metrics and reports from Human Resources Information System and performance evaluation system. Assists in the evaluation and reporting of this information to hospital leadership.
4. Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
5. Discuss and explain UTHealth and hospital human resources related policies with employees and supervisors. Provides advice, counsel, and recommendations to managers and employees regarding employee relations issues, discuss appropriate actions and alternatives.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
PHR preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Analytical ability
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Experience:
Three years professional human resources experience. Prefer experience in a hospital setting.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
