Position Summary:

Provides general administrative/technical support for one or more human resources functions.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provides general support to clients and/or departmental staff members in assigned area of human resources.
  2. Assists in the gathering and compiling of data for the preparation of various activities and HR reports. May analyze and make recommendations to supervisor on Human Resources issues.
  3. Processes and/or explains forms to employees and applicants.
  4. Performs one or more of the following objectives:
    1. Employment verifications
    2. Prior state service verification
    3. Process pre-employment paperwork and badges with new employees
    4. Applicant data entry in database
    5. Front desk reception
    6. Assists recruiters with clerical activities
    7. Provides backup on human resources management and/or financial systems
  5. Responds to general questions in compliance with UT-Houston’s policies.
  6. Assists with the preparation of general procedures.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

No certification required.

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or its equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
