HR Business Systems Specialist
Position Summary:
Designs, develops and implements new or enhanced ERP systems and business processes in support of HR information technology. Creates, designs, and plans Web content. Identifies opportunities for business process improvement and initiates projects to make improvements with or without deploying information technology. Prepares reports on metrics, data summaries, changes, trends and strategies for use by management.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Performs data analysis and research across the range of functions found in HR environments, using standard reporting tools, data extraction tools, surveys, and data reporting mechanisms.
2. Develops and supports the reporting and analysis of key measurements, trends and benchmarks; develops and distributes periodic standard reports and public queries for recurring information requests; performs ad hoc reporting for requests received from various functional areas within human resources.
3. Works closely with HR leadership to develop, modify and support the HRIS Systems (Taleo/Oracle, Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft, Success Factors).
4. Assists with the development and facilitation of training for department programs and database systems.
5. Promotes the department, the university and our positions through the internet and other electronic and visual media; stays current with new technology and marketing trends and techniques; assists in the creation of a comprehensive internet and web marketing strategies for the HR department; collaborates with division leaders and the Office of Development to help HR’s branding efforts.
6. Develops and supports division web site, content and other social media tools (LinkedIn, Facebook).
7. Maintains current key facts and indicators relevant to human resources.
8. Designs and conducts surveys; makes recommendations based on data extrapolation and analysis.
9. Analyzes and designs HRMS workflow systems in coordination with HR service units and application developers to integrate business processes into HRMS.
10. Implements/enhances HR technology, and determines training needs for the Organization, including project planning, business process redesign, and enabling of delivered technology resources.
11. Tests new applications, develops user documentation, and coordinates with Training unit to deliver end user training.
12. Assists with administration of HR technology upgrades and conversions through collaboration; documents changes, tests modifications, monitors data conversion and develops training.
13. Researches feasibility and administers implementation of additional application modules in coordination with service departments and applications developers, which includes identifying user requirements and overseeing application modifications.
14. Keeps HR management apprised of HR technology issues, ensuring delivered functionality is used to its fullest extent.
15. Leads and mentors lower level professional staff.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of business/technical experience. Demonstrated ability for project management, forecasting, marketing, policy review and formation, business systems, data analysis, and organizational effectiveness.
Demonstrated skill in developing/utilizing various forms of communication. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team made up of various constituents including HR, IT, faculty, research and business professionals.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
