Professor- Division Director, Infectious Diseases - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School
The Division of Infectious Diseases (ID) currently has 65 employees: 16 faculty members, including 11 MDs, 1 PharmD, and 4 PhDs, with national and international leadership positions in societies and journals, FDA and NIH committees, local leadership positions at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Memorial Hermann Hospital (MHH) Health System and Harris Health, and is well represented in high profile texts. The Division had an outstanding clinical and basic science research program with over $3.7 million in research funding in FY19, with NIH ACTG site and active HIV clinical research, and has a broad, productive and integrated academic practice. The Division oversees a highly competitive fellowship program with 10 funded ACGME ID fellows (a joint program with UT MDACC), 1 HIV and 2 ID Transplant fellows.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through state high-level responsibilities: research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other service.
Qualifications:
The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement.

This is an exempt, full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance/403(b), and retirement plan.
