Associate Professor or Professor, NTC - Texas Medical Center(TMC) - Neurosurgery, McGovern Medical School
The Neurosurgery Department at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (UTHealth) and the Mischer Neurosciences of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, are recruiting for a neurosurgical position. We expect to fill the positions by summer 2020.
We are looking for a surgeon with demonstrated clinical excellence, commitment to resident education, and a history of academic pursuits.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The incumbent should be a mid-level to senior academic neurosurgeon specializing in elective spine surgery and will be expected to lead:
-our Spine Division at the Texas Medical Center location.
-a comprehensive spine and peripheral nerve group, with expertise in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) approaches, deformity surgery, spine trauma, and pain
management.
-an established Center of Excellence in Spine, approved for both Walmart and the Pacific Business Group Health programs.
Qualifications:
Fellowship training is preferred but not necessary depending on the residency training and career experience. Expertise in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) approaches, deformity surgery, spine trauma, and pain management.
We have a strong and collegial group and we offer excellent compensation, practice opportunities, and administrative support. We match three neurosurgery residents per year, and have Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST) approved fellowships in spine, cerebrovascular and skull base surgery, endovascular surgery, epilepsy/functional, and The Accreditation Council for Pediatric Neurosurgical Fellowships (ACPNF) approved fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery.
