McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Associate Professor position in the in the Division of Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, TX, Texas Medical Center location.  The candidate will join a talented team of physicians that strive for excellence in education, research and clinical practice. 


Position Key Accountabilities:


The candidate with rank of Associate Professor of Surgery will be responsible for directing the daily activities of the Burn Section, which falls, under the division of Acute Care Surgery.  You will be the Chief of the Burn Center and Medical Director of the Burn ICU, in addition to being included in the Burn Call Schedule.  You will also provide clinical service, research activities, administrative and other activities; provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and resident in clinic and hospital settings. 


Qualifications:


The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License.  Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement.  Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement. 


Qualified applicant must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery and service, have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goas of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. 


This is a security sensitive position and thereby subject to Texas Education Code #51.215.  The background check will be required for the final candidate.
