The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth)- is seeking applicants for the position of Chief of Vascular Surgery division, with rank of Professor. Candidates should have leadership in development, execution and promotion of projects and programs that are designed to deliver patient care that is personal, safe, congenial, coordinated and of the highest quality.

The Division of Vascular Surgery is an academic vascular practice affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Hospital System, practicing in the Metropolitan Greater Houston area.

Position Key Accountabilities:

-Serving as a leader in vascular surgery within the Memorial Hermann System   by developing the vascular surgery clinical service line for the provision of   vascular surgery care
-Being accountable for helping to maintain a balanced relationship between the   providers in the practice and the administration of UT Health by keeping the   Chair informed on issues, concerns and problems arising from the day-to-day   practice of physician services and development of plans for improving   physician and patient satisfaction levels.
-Coordinating and participating in activities to build relationships with surgeons     representing the department and the Chair.
-Teaching of residents, fellows and medical students.
-Supervising residents, medical students and staff mentoring for all members of   the vascular surgery division
-Being involved in inpatient and outpatient procedures as well as consults   within the hospital.
-Developing a referral pattern with physicians to build the practice.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an M.D., be board certified in both general and vascular surgery, and be eligible for a full medical licensure in Texas.
