Division Chief, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School
Position Key Accountabilities:
We are looking for an academician with exemplary leadership, administrative, and mentoring skills who will lead and continue enhancing the clinical, research and educational activities of the Division.
The Division currently shares 30 multidisciplinary faculty members who practice at 9 different ambulatory practice locations and 2 inpatient sites in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine throughout the Houston area. It maintains a broad, robust, productive and integrated academic practice, as well as outstanding clinical research. The Division supports 22 fellows in the Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program, and 3 fellows in the Sleep Medicine fellowship program.
The University of Texas McGovern Medical School (UTMMS) and Division is located within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Hospital (MHH) Health System. The academic inpatient activities are performed at the connected MHH-TMC campus. The Division Chief will also play a crucial role in the development of pulmonary and sleep activities at the UTMMS affiliated Lyndon B. Johnson County Hospital. Moreover, the TMC is the largest medical center in the world, with 21 hospitals, eight academic research institutions within just a few miles.

Qualifications:
The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. Required or preferred minimum years of clinical experience or years post residency statement.
