Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor - General Practice and Dental Public Health, School of Dentistry
The University Of Texas School Of Dentistry at Houston seeks applicants for three part-time (0.5/0.6 FTE) faculty positions in the Departments of General Practice and Dental Public Health at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level.
The School of Dentistry is located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, which offers significant resources and important opportunities for collaboration and advanced training. The School of Dentistry is one of six schools in the most comprehensive health science center in Texas.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities of the positions are to provide lectures, pre-clinic and clinical instruction in General Practice and Dental Public Health to undergraduate students. Also may include clinic supervision of dental students on mobile van rotations locally and in surrounding communities. As well as to conduct research and to provide service to the university such as serving on standing and ad-hoc dental school committees. The position is available March 1, 2019. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree with prior teaching and/or private practice experience. Competency in CAD/CAM digital dentistry is preferred. Applicants must be qualified to obtain a license to practice dentistry in the State of Texas or practice under a Faculty License through the School of Dentistry. The ideal candidate will have experience working or interacting with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds and have a commitment to inclusion and equity.
This is a security sensitive position and thereby subject to Texas Education Code # 51.215. A background check and drug screen will be required for the final candidate.
