Position Summary:

Under the guidance of clinical staff, provide structured individual and group activities that meet the immediate needs of the client(s) that may include: crisis intervention, maintaining a safe physical and emotional environment, and positive reinforcement to promote initiative, motivation, and confidence.

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

1.  Under the guidance of the Program Manager or Lead Resident Advisor, direct and guide assigned teams in structured individual and group activities.
2.  Assist in informing and orienting clients to their rights and responsibilities, the program, and the campus. 
3.  Mentors the client and hears their concerns and needs. 
4.  Instructs clients in activities of daily living and provides assistance, as needed. 
5.  Documents client progress as it relates to their treatment plan according to policy and procedures. 
6.  Participates in crisis intervention as needed. 
7.  Reports any significant occurrences to the team leader.
8.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or work experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience:

One year of relevant work experience in a setting related to public contact, health care, or social service.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
