Position Summary:
Provides oversight, direction, technical leadership, and operational expertise for the implementation, update, and administration of the outcomes assessment system. Assists with the institutional SACS accreditation processes and the individual school accrediting agency processes.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Provides application support to all institutional and school assessment coordinators as well as system users in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of all problems related to the outcomes assessment system and its integrated applications.
2. Oversees the accuracy of all assessment documentation such as programming/unit outcomes, faculty qualifications, academic program and student learning outcomes provided by institutional units/schools and reports generated by the assessment management reporting tool.
3. Proposes and administers management standards, policies and procedures relating to outcomes assessment software reporting tool in collaboration with Director, Institutional Accreditation and the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
4. Proposes, maintains and monitors assignment deadlines, user roles and privileges and authentication and authorization of the UTHSC and external users to the assessment software management system.
5. Sets deadlines and consults with designated school accreditation personnel regarding documentation entry processes for outcomes assessment.
6. Communicates and prepares presentation material regarding assessment and use of software reporting tool for institutional and school accreditation processes as appropriate.
7. Develops and maintains a through knowledge of institutional outcomes assessment and operational processes and how they are implemented and configured in the assessment software.
8. Coordinates the installation, development, maintenance, performance monitoring, tuning, vendor contract, and upgrading the outcomes assessment system and related software.
9. Consults on a regular basis with all appropriate governance bodies.
10. Develops documents, and implements flexible, non-restrictive change management standard, policies, and procedures for all changes to the outcomes assessment system and interfaces to integrated systems. Monitors and enforces these standards.
11. Other duties as assigned
Certification/Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of assessment processes and analysis. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, database management, presentation software, and website design software/Dreamweaver.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or in the area of computer science or information technology; masters degree with professional experience in assessment in higher education preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Three years related experience. Outcomes assessment software experience and other system software application in a large scale enterprise-wide environment experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
