Administrative Director, Center for Clinical & Translational Sciences

Position Summary:
Organizes and coordinate the research and educational administrative functions within the Center for Clinical & Translational Sciences (CCTS). Promotes multidisciplinary research collaborations and training in the areas of clinical and translational research.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Coordinates overall administrative, research, and education/training within the CCTS.
2. Responsible for helping with writing, completion and submission of progress reports, related grants, competitive renewal and related documents for the CCTS and related multidisciplinary/multischool/multi-institutional programs associated with the CCTS.
3. Responsible for helping execute training programs/workshops/seminars for new investigators, both basic and clinical, on finding funding and writing grant proposals.
4. Works with HSC investigators to identify and apply for grants to fund multi-investigator/multidisciplinary/multi-institutional programs.
5. Serves as a resource for faculty to support the development of major research initiatives.
6. Serves as liaison to NIH programmatic staff.
7. Assists in the coordination of CCTS network activities with other regional/national CTSA representatives.
8. Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
9. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
None.
Minimum Education:
Master’s degree preferably in Biomedical Sciences
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in a related research environment. Experience in grant proposal writing and submission required.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
