McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health center, invites applications for an instructor or assistant professor, full-time, (1.0 FTE), non-tenure research track in the Department of Anesthesiology. The laboratory of Dr. Eltzschig, Chairman of the department research team has been studying the roles of hypoxia-inducible transcription factors, microRNAs and purinergic signaling events during multiple types of organ injury, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise in studying inflammation and immunology in the context of intestinal inflammation

Position Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include conducting cutting edge-research using murine models to uncover novel mechanism and therapeutic targets related to IBD as a member of the Eltzschig laboratory.

Qualifications:

Preferred applicants will possess M.D., PhD. or MD/PhD. with 4 years postdoctoral training.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery and service, have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.
