Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor, Technology Services and Informatics - School of Dentistry
Position Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and sustain research programs with extramural funding, play an integral role in new program initiatives and contribute to the teaching mission of the center and the school. Intramural faculty practice opportunities are available for eligible candidates.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical science, biomedical informatics, public health, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines. The position is highly competitive with regard to salary, start-up funds and laboratory space.
The ideal candidate will have experience working or interacting with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds and have a commitment to inclusion and equity.
The mission of the Center for Oral Healthcare Quality and Safety is to improve oral health by developing a dental learning health system and informatics infrastructure capable of continuous self-study and improvement. The School of Dentistry is one of six schools in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and is located in Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest medical center. This unique environment offers significant and unique research resources. For example, UTSD hosts BigMouth, a multi-institutional, centralized dental data repository that contains clinical data on over 3 million patients. UTSD is also a leader in the adoption and use of applied informatics and clinical technology including electronic health records, digital imaging, digital dentistry, and advanced simulation.
